Mr. James Ernest Taudte died at his home in Ball Ground on the morning of July 7, 2016 of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Taudte was a retired Georgia CPA, who spent most of his career in private practice. He served in various capacities in the Georgia Accounting Association and the Georgia Society of CPAs. Early in his career he had worked for The Coca-Cola Company and Windham- Brannen CPAs in Atlanta.

He was a graduate of the University of Florida and Georgia State University, where he earned his master's degree in professional accountancy. He had previously attended the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD in 1966 and 1967.

Mr. Taudte was born in Columbus, Ohio May 14, 1946, and moved with his family to Florida as a small child. He grew up in Sarasota and was a proud graduate of Riverview High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Taudte. He is survived by his beloved four children, Rosie Wigington (Allen) of Jasper, Jeca Taudte (Stephen Totilo) of Brooklyn, New York, John Taudte of Roswell, and Mary Taudte of Roswell; two grandchildren, Kate Wigington and Jack Wigington of Jasper.

Mr. Taudte was a man who worked hard to understand God's will, and while not always successful, never doubted God's grace. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 11, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend John Wolfe and Reverend Greg Meadows officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday at Roper Funeral Home. In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Taudte's body was cremated.
